It has been a busy time for all at S2C2-not only the 3C’s to organise at Birmingham but several conferences to cover since the last time we met!

The 3C’s was another tremendous success and raised awareness that day-to-day issues of running successful cleanrooms are important to our members e.g. cleaning, clothing, training and monitoring.

The Monitor will address these issues (and more) in the coming year.

The Letter From America also highlights the great interest shown in ‘Fundamental Tutorials’ at the recent Phoenix get together - this is another slot the Monitor is hoping to meet in the coming year.

It was with great pleasure that George Birkett and myself accepted an invitation to speak at the inaugural meeting of the Irish Cleanroom Society (ICS) - the subject was ‘Personnel Training’.

I visited Frankfurt and delivered a session, on Training, at the Cleanroom Technology Expo.

It strikes me that training is a major player in running a successful cleanroom. Good news on that front–National qualifications are now appearing and European qualifications are in the pipeline (contact me for details-North Tyneside College).

An excellent response to Peter Starky’s crossword–many correct entries but only one winner. F Gosling, Courtaulds Engineering, well done.

Remember–if you have ideas for articles or views on current issues then contact me .This is your magazine–get the most out of it.

Good Reading.
